From a Shared Pint to a Shared Dream
Anchor Bomb Brewing Company began with a simple idea: make great beer and enjoy it with great friends.
The name was first imagined in 2016 over a beer at Wharf Hill Brewery. Inspired by Naval heritage, the anchor represents strength, stability, and community, while the bomb reflects our military roots and a commitment to brewing beer that's simply "the bomb."
What started as a friendship built around Camaros, Chicago sports, and homebrewing evolved into designing recipes, brewing all-grain beer, and chasing the dream of one day opening a brewery of our own.
Today, Anchor Bomb Brewing Company remains built on friendship, craftsmanship, community, and great beer.

Batteries Released - Flagship Citrus IPA - 6.7% ABV - 62 IBU
The beer that launched Anchor Bomb Brewing Company. After five iterations and countless tastings, Batteries Released became the benchmark for every beer that followed. Bright citrus character, assertive hop flavor, and a finish that keeps you coming back for another mission.
Low Visibility Detail - Hazy IPA - 7.7% - 47 IBU
Known simply as "Low Vis," this is Travis's masterpiece. Nearly two years of recipe refinement produced a smooth, juicy hazy IPA with huge flavor and remarkable drinkability. If Batteries Released built the brewery, Low Vis helped define it.
Liberty Call - Pilsner - 5.1% ABV - 29 IBU
Clean, crisp, and built for hot summer days. Inspired by those rare moments when the work is done and the schedule is yours. Easy drinking without sacrificing flavor.
DD-214 - Double IPA - 8.9% ABV - 89 IBU
A high-octane double IPA designed to check you out just like its namesake. Big hop character, elevated ABV, and enough horsepower to remind you you're no longer on duty.
SPEC HOPS - Double IPA - 9.1% ABV - 94 IBU
An all-out hop assault. Massive bitterness, bold hop flavor, and absolutely no apologies.
Welcome to the Mess - Brown Ale - 5.8% ABV - 23 IBU
Brewed in honor of Chiefs Season. Smooth, approachable, and proudly khaki-colored. One of the few recipes that was right from the very first brew day.
Midwatch Cup O' Joe - Coffee Stout - 5.8% ABV - 51 IBU
Coffee and beer united for those standing watch long after everyone else has gone to sleep. Pairs exceptionally well with a good cigar and a better sea story.
New Fiscal Year - Oktoberfest - 6.0% ABV - 20 IBU
Timed to arrive just as one fiscal year ends and another begins. Malt-forward, balanced, and inspired by both Navy tradition and a memorable trip to Oktoberfest in Munich.
Ask the Chief - Hefeweizen - 5.6% ABV - 13 IBU
A nod to Travis's original beer preferences before the IPAs took over. Easy-drinking wheat beer character with classic hefeweizen refreshment.
Bug Juice - Grapefruit American IPA - 6.8% ABV - 58 IBU
Inspired by the grapefruit-forward IPAs that first sparked the idea. Bright citrus flavor, bold hops, and a tribute to one of the beers that influenced the Anchor Bomb journey.
Morning Colors - American Light Lager - 4.2% ABV - 11 IBU
Created for those who appreciate lighter beer but still want flavor. Easy-drinking, approachable, and originally designed for your wife as an alternative to the typical light lager.
R.E.D. Friday! - Irish Red Ale - 5.0% ABV - 22 IBU
Named after the tradition of wearing red on Fridays to Remember Everyone Deployed. Smooth malt character, easy drinkability, and a tribute to those serving far from home.
Meet The Founders
Two Friends. One Brewery Dream.
Anchor Bomb Brewing Company was founded by Nick Meadors and Travis Chain, two friends brought together through their children's cheerleading activities and a shared appreciation for great beer.
What began as casual conversations quickly revealed a long list of common interests: Chicago sports, Camaros, cigars, military service, and a passion for craft beer. Before long, one brew day turned into another, recipes evolved, and a hobby became something much bigger.
Together, Nick and Travis have spent years refining recipes, experimenting with ingredients, and building a beer lineup inspired by Naval tradition, friendship, and the moments that bring people together. From the flagship Citrus IPA, Batteries Released, to Travis' beloved Low Visibility Detail Hazy IPA, every beer in The Fleet has a story behind it.
While Anchor Bomb Brewing Company remains a homebrewing passion project today, the long-term vision has always been the same: build a brewery where great beer, great friends, and great stories come together.
Whether it's a brew day in the garage, a cigar after a successful batch, or sharing a pint with friends, Anchor Bomb Brewing Company is built on the belief that the best memories are made around good beer and good people.
